Toners, what are the benefits and why we need them

Hi loves!

Today I have a post about toners. I'm going to explain what the are and what they do for the skin.
let's get into it!

So what are toners? In the west toners are mostly used to reset your PH level. After wasing your face with a high PH cleanser, you use a toner to bring the PH level down. They are also meant to remove any left behind dirt on your face. They often leave your skin dry, tight and stinging. You use the toner with the cottom pad, because of that is normal to have a dirty cotton afterwards.

But the toners from korean are completly different! A good toner gives hydration and preps the skin for the other products to come. You don't always need to use a cotton pad. Just put some on your hand and pat it in gently. After you have applied it, the skin feels soft and hydrated!

In korean toners are also called ''skin'', ''softener'' or ''skin softener''. Don't be confused when you can't find the ''toner'', it has probably one of these names.

But what are the benefits of toner?
- First of all the gives nutrients back to the skin.
- It balances your PH level but very gently.
- It preps your skin for the rest of the skincare routine.

You should think of your face as a sponge. When it's dried up and you add liquid on top, it won't absorb well. But if the sponge is already damp and you put on liquid, it will absorb much better and faster!

Do we all need a toner?
Yes! Everyone should use a toner. Often people think that you only need a toner when your oily with/or acne. But that can't be further from the truth! After you wash your face, your skin is stripped of it's natural oils and makes your face alkaline. With a toner you balance you PH level out, bring hydration back into the skin and your skin absorbs the next skincare steps easier.

Which toner should i use?
Chosing the right toner can be quite the struggle. The toner depends on your skintype and your skin concerns. I will put some examples down for you guys!

For oily skintypes: Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and the Son & Park Beauty Water

For dry skintypes: Klavuu White Pearlsation Revitalizing Pearl Treatment Toner and the Cosrx Galactomyces Alcohol-Free Toner

For combination skintypes: Missha Time Revolution Clear Toner and the Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin

For normal skintypes: Etude House Moistfull Collagen Facial Toner and the Enature Birch Juice Hydro Essence Skin

For sentitive skintypes: Missha Near Skin Simple Therapy Mist Toner and the Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner
