The 10- step korean skincare routine... You have probably heard from it now, as it's getting a lot popular by the day.
The Korean women have used their skincare routine for decades. Which is their secret to healthy looking and glowy skin!
I totally understand if you feel like the 10- step routine is a little overboard. And that it will take all night. But in reality it doesn'tr take that much time of your night at all!
With that I will explain all the steps in detail, so you can get a better idea of it all.
Before I'm going to begin, I just want to say that you don't need to follow all 10 steps. Make the routine fit to your own skin and you'll find much better results!!
Step 1- Eye Makeup Removal Use an eye make-up removal to gently remove your makeup.
If you cleanse with a normal cleanser the chances are that you'll have left over makeup. on your eyes. And nobody wants that.
Also using a separate cleanser is better for your eyes, as it reduces tugging the skin.
Step 2- Double Cleanse The double cleanse exits out 2 steps, as the name suggest. The first step is an oil based cleanser.
With an oil cleanser you remove your makeup, sun cream and dirt on your face. Massage it on dry skin to melt all the makeup. Add some water to it and massage it once again. And now your ready to rinse it all off!
After the oil cleanser it's time for the 2nd step. For this step you use a water based cleanser. Massage it on wet skin to remove left over residue.
Step 3- Exfoliator Use a exfoliator at least twice a week, for clear skin. It removes al the dead skin and allows the other skincare products to penates better into the skin.
Step 4- Toner/Refresher With toner you bring some hydration back in your skin and you balance your ph levels. Put some toner on your hands and pat the product in. Or use a cotton pad to gently swipe the skin with it.
Step 5- Essence An essence is a very important step in the korean skincare routine, it brings moisture back in to the skin and it helps the next step to better absorb.
Step 6- treatment With treatment we mean serums, ampoules and boosters. They treat your skincare concerns. Whether that may be: dull skin, wrinkles, pores, acne. This step is great to treat them.
Step 7- Sheet Mask A sheet mask is drenched in essence. Sheet masks provide the skin with nourishment and treatment. Leave the sheet mask on your face for 15-20 minutes. Use a sheet mask twice a week or how much you want.
Step 8- The Eye Cream An eye cream is important for our eyes. Because the skin around your eyes is very thin you have to be gentle and careful. The eye cream provides protection and hydration. Remember never rub the eye cream but tap using your ring finger.
Step 9- Moisturizer With a moisturizer you give your skin a boost of hydration. It also looks everything in. They come in many forms, there are lotions, gel, emulsion or a cream. Use a moisturizer every night and morning and pat it on your skin.
Step 10- Sunscreen You most wear sunscreen everyday as it protects against premature aging. Apply it as your last step for your skincare routine and reapply when needed.
I hope this helps you to understand the korean skincare routine better. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
